What's Happening?

Hello 2019!  Let's hope the New Year brings in some super gigs!  I  can look back on 2018 with a smile  knowing I  played some very memorable concerts. The Memorial Day party with Joe Bilotti and friends was especially fun since we were amongst lots of local friends and fans! . We were  back at Ginty Field in Morristown for their summer music series  with The Heart Of Gold Band on August 21, a gig we have been asked to do year after year!  I did an intimate concert with Joe in Danbury Connecticut on September 9th at The Richter House which was super special! . Then we played the Festival On The Green with The Heart Of Gold Band on September 30, always a highlight of the year for us!  I hope 2019 presents even more great concert opportunities to us. As you can see we are available for summer festivals, private parties, clubs and more! Please keep us in mind.

I have a very enthusiastic and talented class of students right now. Last  season ended on a high note with all of my younger students achieving highest honors in the MEA Auditions and with one  of my students placing 2nd in The Eric Steiner Original Composition Competition, Junior Level, and two receiving Honorable Mentions in the same category.  Those 3 students along with several others then performed at Caldwell University in  April for the Original Composition Festival!  Right now the students are preparing to perform in a "Salon" at my home in February which should be a lot of fun! Very blessed to have wonderful students of all ages, with such a love of music and piano!

In 2017, I collaborated with Kathy Knittel on her CD, A Songbird's Christmas . I produced and did all the arrangements. Joe Bilotti also plays on many of the tracks.  We did get some airplay on various internet radio stations  this past holiday season! You can read all about the project and purchase the CD from the merchandise page.  Kathy, Joe and myself are booking gigs now to perform this music for the 2019 Holiday Season. Let me know if you are interested in having us play in your Church or for a local Holiday event!

Morristown Festival On The Green
SEPTEMBER 30, 2018

We will be back for the 2018 Festival On The Green on September 30. We perform on the main stage which is located on the corner of Dehart and South Streets from 1-5. Bring the whole family! This is a free event with a lot of activities for the entire family!

Last year's concert: The Heart Of Gold Band was back for its 8th year of rockin' the Festival On The Green in Morristown, NJ.  It was an unusually hot day on September 24, 2018, climbing into the high 90's, but the audience stood strong in spite of the heat and inspired the band with their enthusiasm and great vibe. The Heart Of Gold Band has become a favorite feature for the festival which attracts thousands of people from around North Jersey. Even the Morris County premier newspaper, The Record agrees!

Some of the new songs added to the repertoire for this year are Life on Mars by David Bowie,  Tiny Dancer by Elton John,  and refreshing arrangements of Eleanor Rigby and Help by The Beatles.   Do You Feel Like I Do, Long Distance Run Around, Low Spark Of High Heeled Boys and Kashmir continue to be crowd favorites.

Asking the band back year after year for this prestigious festival is a testament to the band's ability of pleasing a large, broad base audience. They are a great choice for a Summer Music Concert series and Festivals of all kinds. They also play private and corporate parties and everything in between.

Check out the Band's Webpage and EPK (Electronic Press Kit). The Press Package includes short bios on all the talented members, a song list, press, links to videos and other information that you might find interesting!

Joan helped organize the judges for the Lifetime TV series Pitch Slapped, a reality show  that featured NJ High School a cappella groups. One of the coaches for the show was Deke Sharon, music director for the Pitch Perfect films!  Joan is pictured here judging with Joe Bilotti and Diane Hessinger.  She ended up judging on three episodes and actually got to present the trophy's and speak on camera as well! What fun!
